Letter to the editor: 2010 too far away
By Bill Payne, Broken Arrow - 11/7/2009
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid delivered their health care bill. It was one foot high and weighed 20 pounds and nobody had read it! If nobody has read it, who wrote it? Some Congressional pages?
You can bet they read enough of it to assure they aren't included in this health care plan. After all the town hall meetings and protests, don't they understand the word "No."
November 2010 can't get here soon enough.
The worst of it is, even if we vote them out we still have to pay their salary forever.

The Tulsa World publishes as many letters as possible within its standards and space limitations. The newspaper receives many more letters than it can publish. To help accommodate that surplus some letters are published online only. Letters that can't be edited below the 250-word limit on printed letters or that are written by an author who has published a letter in the past 30 days are often used online only. The newspaper also emphasizes local topics in printed letters. Letters addressing national or international events are often used online.

Alot can happen between now and then, don't get yer hopes up. We'll probably catch Osama Bin Laden next October, right after congress proclaims beer and chili dogs are a natural right of the people, we're in power for the long term now. Another forty years of democratic congressional rule is very likely.

Jon cuts through the lies to get to the meat of the story and hold the talking heads accountable for what they said last year vs. this year. I LOVE IT!

Bill Payne wrote a letter. It was very short and didn't carry too much weight. You can bet enough people read it and disagree with it. He still doesn't understand the word "Yes". Worst of it is, he'll most likely write another.

Okie, have you read it? If so, did you understand any of the legal terms?
Hijinx, (11/7/2009 8:06:45 AM)
Yea Bill, it was the pages who wrote it. Jesus what a winner this guy is. Dont you have a gun needing stroked or a PBR needing guzzled instead of wasting you time and crayons on a pointless and stupid diatribe?

Beer and chili dogs for all! Gasp, I did catch that and it was funny. Also, Stewart's send-up of Beck's appendix was spot-on.

I am glad that the TW confined this letter to the online world. It's not worthy of ink or paper.

Apparently Mr. Payne(pain?) didn't read the bill either or he would have commented on the details in it. One of the reasons I voted for Obama was his promise to fix our health care system and I expect him to keep trying despite the lies and hysterics from people like Bill Payne,Republicans, insurance company execs etc.
Gasp, tulsa (11/7/2009 3:32:06 PM)
Did anyone see Jon Stewart's bit on the size of the bill and the Republican's trying to describe it. It became larger and larger as excepts from Repubs.and talking heads described it. A real funny bit. Representatives don't need to read it. Just let the opposition find fault and read that part. All we really needed was one sentence. "Medicare is expanded to cover all American Citizens." But because we Dems. have no spine we end up with this monster. My dad's story about the man, his son and their Donkey weighted down with sacks of grain headed for market comes to mind.Folks comments to to the Man. "Look at that man making his boy walk." "Look at that man walking and letting his lazy boy ride." The Donkey, loaded down with grain, boy and man wobbled on the bridge and fell into the river. Moral: Try to please everyone and you loose your ***(donkey).

Are you kidding me...NO ONE READ IT... They wrote it so they had to of read it.... Just another cry baby republican NOT knowing what there talking about. Health care is a huge problem in this country and the DO NOTHING Republicans did nothing about it the eight years they were in office and are still trying to do nothing about it. They put it on the internet so everyone could read it just like the republicans wanted and still people cry....
Okietall1, (11/7/2009 8:55:47 AM)
One thing I have noticed about the Republicans is that they don't want to say anything about the Republicans completly destroying this great country in everyway the last eight years and then getting on here and trashing the Democrates. Obama has only been in office 9 months and has already turned this country around and MR. Bill says 2010 elections can't come soon enough. I guess he's hoping the Republicans get voted back in to completly finish this country off. What a great American you are MR. Bill.
Okietall1, (11/7/2009 12:22:14 PM)
Thanks KJNOKIE... the Republicans never read anything redbeard...not sure if they can read...lol...they have to turn on the radio to RushBO or Hannity so they can tell them how to walk, talk and think....boy there's some real winners...If you look back as far as you want you will see that the only thing the Republicans have done is give tax breaks to there rich friend, charge up 10 trillion dollars and BS the rednecks and Christians. Thats the only way they can get votes. They have said there against abortion to get the Christian vote but have NEVER, EVER done anything about it. The sucker vote.
Okietall1, (11/7/2009 1:56:59 PM)
lol...great post TonyQ...I would like for any Republican to tell me just WHAT the Republicans have done thats been good for county....There trickle down economics worked really well, our economy did trickle down to nothing...oh wait..thats not the results we were wanting...lol...oh I know, they got 5000 of our hero's killed ,30,000 blown up and 200,000 people in Iraq killed to get those weapons of mass destruction...oh, they weren't there ...hmmmmmmmmm....?????????....oh, I know, they got all that great info from beating the hell out those guys so we could get Benladen....nope, didn't get him either.....HEEEEEEEEEEELP
Okietall1, (11/7/2009 3:40:38 PM)

This health care bill they are trying to push on us is getting to scare me. Pelosi, Reed and the group we have sent to Washington should all be voted out. They are a bunch of want to be dictators.
TheChef, Tulsa (11/7/2009 4:38:36 PM)
Everybody knows what the word "no" is; the only word in the right wing dictionary.
TonyQ, Tulsa (11/7/2009 1:15:56 PM)
Democrats aren't perfect by a long shot... but dear god why would anyone want to go back to GOP rule? Didn't they do enough damage? Or are some just so glued to FOX news that they think the crumbling of our society that happened over the last administration was all the fault of ACORN or something?
lizzy, Tulsa (11/9/2009 9:49:52 AM)
"This health care bill they are trying to push on us is getting to scare me." Yeah, the Republican alternative was so much better--the one the CBO says would cost 36 billion MORE and leave even more people uninsured in just a few years. That's not scary.
