Girls hit by pickup on Tulsa street
By JARREL WADE World Staff Writer - 11/6/2009
Two girls are in the hospital after a pickup hit them as they crossed South Union Avenue in the 5800 block about 9 p.m. Friday.
Tulsa Police Officer Paul Fields said witnesses said the girls, a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old, were part of a group and darted into traffic.
The 14-year-old was in critical condition, and the 12-year-old was in fair condition, both at St. Francis Hospital, EMSA spokeswoman Tina Wells said.
Fields said the 12-year-old likely will be treated and released but that the 14-year-old sustained serious head injuries.
