Not really a total loss. Better to have a DINO than a far left liberal. Hopefully by the time this seat comes back up again, the Republican party will have it's internal affairs worked out.

"You need to lighten up" Dusty telling someone to "lighten up" made me LOL.

Ignatz, I don't agree with you very often, but you make an excellent point. To find a candidate that is truly free from the influence of money would be a man-made miracle in todays political climate.

I still don't think you are funny Plante.

Few Clothes, America (11/6/2009 3:57:30 PM)
I, for one, don't think the pictures are ever funny and the so called bright colors don't hide the fact that Plante only eats left wings when he eats chicken.

This is fair and balanced. I wonder if the Republicans will forget the previous cartoon and whine about this one? Nailed it, Bruce!

BTW - that seat's up for reelection next year.

Bruce, You need to remember this cartoon, after the 2010 elections you can draw it again with a donkey.

In keeping with the republican theme, and noting Veterans Day is approaching, the following is noted: Senator Coburn Celebrates Veterans Day: "Coburn: Objection is cost, not veterans By Rick Maze - Staff writer Posted : Wednesday Nov 4, 2009 11:10:12 EST The senator holding up consideration of an omnibus veterans' health bill doesn't hate veterans and their families, but he does hate the idea of creating new benefits without paying for them, his spokesman says. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., is using Senate rules to block a vote on S 1963, a major veterans bill, unless he has the chance to offer amendments to pay for the new benefits it creates, especially stipends, health benefits, counseling and other programs aimed at family caregivers of seriously wounded combat veterans. Cash for clunkers, tax rebates for home purchases, but our Senator draws the line at veterans? Congratulations to the party of no for preventing the democratic congress from helping veterans. Senator Durbin asked on the floor "What is a veteran's life worth." Coburn has his calculator out. Where was Tulsa World reporting on this issue?

Jules09A: It is really inappropriate (and typical) to make stuff up and tag it at the end with "check your facts". It tends to destroy credibility. John McHugh (current Secretary of the Army) held New York's 23rd district from 1993 until this year. He is a republican. He succeeded David O'Brien Martin (republican)who held the seat from Jan. 3, 1981 - Jan 3 1993. And that district has been continously held by a republican since 1871. Your post descended into "Death panel" "Pull the plug on Granny" territory.

Norm: Thin reed. That sounds like "Yeah, we lost the game, but we had more first downs."

One more whack at this. Mr. Plante's offering underscores what is going on within the GOP. A civil war between the hard right and everybody else. The regional differences are striking. In broad strokes, the GOP is moving dangerously close to becoming a regional party of southern malcontents. The right wing is animated and will tilt the primaries towards candidates who will not be competitive in a general election. This civil war has to run its course. It's how parties renew themselves. But as in the "real" civil war, the southerners stand a real chance of embarking on a losing cause.

Hate mongering propagandists always spew out of both sides of their mouths. The double standard is it's okay to destroy the opposition with personal attacks and racial motivated slurs but 'you don't say a thing to us, or we will call foul!' So who are the real whiners here? Lol, what a piece of work.

Rebud, replace (Rush,Beck,Caribou Barbie) with (Keith Overbite, Tingleleg, and Obama). And then tell us how the smell always comes through. hehehe!

But it's suppose to be an especially cold winter. Can't the democrats at least give them a tent?

Thats hilarious Bruce. A porker of a good one.

Dusty, to quote from above "You have no idea what you are talking about. Scuzzy-fuzzy bailed and supported the Democrat because she is A RINO like Arlen Specter. That's not a partisan observation, just the facts." Dusty, you are an idiot. Read the news before you quote on it.
