Letter to the editor: Kick 'em out

By Don Rushing, Sapulpa - 11/5/2009

All these bills coming out of Congress are a big fat joke. Cap and tax, stimulus bills, health care bills, climate change bills, etc. are a product of deranged DemocRATS that have no sane reason to even be elected to Congress. Same way with the entire Obama administration. They are a bunch of idiots that should never been elected to be in the White House. Those senators and congressmen who vote for Obama's bills are giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the U.S. Consider the debt we are in to China and spending the money that we don't even have. Those supporters of Obama as well as Obama and his entire administration are guilty of treason and should pay the price by being kicked out of office and never let back in.

The Tulsa World publishes as many letters as possible within its standards and space limitations. The newspaper receives many more letters than it can publish. To help accommodate that surplus some letters are published online only. Letters that can't be edited below the 250-word limit on printed letters or that are written by an author who has published a letter in the past 30 days are often used online only. The newspaper also emphasizes local topics in printed letters. Letters addressing national or international events are often used online.

Fredsdad, Hijinx is refering to the 35 articles of impeachment authored by two liberal Democrats. What happened to House Resolution 1258? It died in committee even though the Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate.

Even though I might agree with some of what the letter mentions, it is merely a rant. But I guess that is what letters to the editor are for.

Funny how politicians can get away with anything.

Pluto , My Best Friend (11/5/2009 5:49:54 PM)
Kick them all out, hear it every year all year long. Somehow it never seems to become a reality. We just keep the same ones in office year after year.

Herb, Broken Arrow (11/5/2009 8:08:46 AM)
Kick 'em ALL out...Democrats and Republicans. Together over the past 30 years these jerks have screwed our country into a myriad of messes from which it will take decades to recover; ignored borders since the failed amnesty of 1986, corporate-driven wars, energy crises, bank-bandits. Now they're trapped and paralyzed amidst the rubble of their own collective malfeasance. In my view, it approaches outright treason.

Hijinx, I try to keep up with the news, but apparently I have missed a big story or two somewhere. I haven't read of a single indictment or impeachment against the principals of any former executive administration in my lifetime save President Clinton. Where are these indictments? I'm embarrassed that I have absolutely missed these. I need to get up to speed.

fredsdad, Tulsa, OK (11/5/2009 11:08:52 AM)
Garfield, Perhaps I do indeed. Please enlighten me as to what date and in what court or government chamber any indictments have been filed.

Hijinx, (11/5/2009 8:35:03 AM)
What a ridiculous letter. What’s your solutions moron? With 36 counts of high crimes leveled against the last wing-nut President and VP I hardly think you have a shred of credibility. Just a terminal case of sour grapes and a sore loser syndrome.

Hijinx, (11/5/2009 11:59:45 AM)
Fredsdad, here ya go. The Kucinich/Wexler impeachment resolution contained 35 articles covering the Iraq war, the Valerie Plame affair, creating a case for war with Iran, capture and treatment of prisoners of war, spying and or wiretapping inside the United States, use of signing statements, failing to Comply with Congressional Subpoenas, the 2004 elections, medicare, Hurricane Katrina, global warming, and 9/11. The 2003 invasion of Iraq was the most substantial portion of the articles of impeachment introduced by Kucinich and Wexler. 15 of the 35 articles directly relate to alleged misconduct by Bush in seeking authority for the war, and in the conduct of military action itself. Five other articles address allegations partially or tertiarily relating to the war, including the "outing" of Valerie Plame, treatment of prisoners (both in Iraq and from operations in Afghanistan and other countries), and building a case for Iran being a threat based in part on alleging Iranian actions in Iraq. And yes I said 36, my bad. But there might be one they overlooked anyway.

Wow! It's Stupid Letter Day! Christmas must be just around the corner.

Mr. Rushing offers up his usual silly analysis: devoid of fact, based on hatred of the left, and little more than name-calling. Well, I have a name for you Mr. Rushing: fascist.

The Beatles said it so many years ago - "You say you want a Revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world You say you got a real solution Well, you know We’d all love to see the plan But when you talk about destruction Don’t you know that you can count me out Don’t you know it’s gonna be All right?

Gasp, tulsa (11/5/2009 12:05:04 PM)
Well Oklahoma is trying with Crazy Jim and "No Name to describe" Tom our other Senator. Oh Yeah, he did lie about payoff talks with Ensign's mistress. Maybe we should start the clean up by asking our own truth shadin Senator to resign. Of course this is just lyin, not treason. But sometimes you have to start small.

Faith, (11/5/2009 9:44:44 PM)
TonyQ you make a very good point. I second it.

Faith, (11/5/2009 9:49:01 PM)
It is a crime to out a CIA agent. Most people would have went to jail. Chaney didn't.

TonyQ, Tulsa (11/5/2009 10:34:59 AM)
Cheaper, more widespread access to healthcare, saving the economy from a depression, saving human civilization from global warming. TREASON! Why can't they be a good government and spend a trillion dollars on a pointless war?

lizzy, Tulsa (11/5/2009 2:42:27 PM)
Talk about your "big fat joke." This letter certainly qualifies.

D R Sparks, Yukon (11/5/2009 8:39:11 AM)
Mr. Rushing, I have one question for you. Did you vote for Bush? If so, it makes you a partner of that administration's treasonous acts.....if you did not vote, then shut up!

GARFIELD, TULSA (11/5/2009 10:42:47 AM)
Mr. Rushing: Just settle down, check your BP, take a glass of water! The USA will still be here after both you and I have left the scene!! FREDS' DAD: Maybe you need new glassses or a hearing aid, SERIOUSLY.
