Police on Wednesday identified a man they want to question in connection with a homicide near a taco stand this week.

Meanwhile, another man remains jailed in Missouri on a first-degree murder warrant in the fatal shooting of Erik Victorino, 20. Victorino was shot in the back in a parking lot near a taco stand at 10822 E. 41st St. about 2:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Luis Alberto Mendoza, 31, was arrested late Monday in St. Louis after he was found in a pickup connected to the crime.

Mendoza, who is also known by the name of Erik Montoya, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Victorino’s death and with shooting at another man who was at the same location.

Detective Mark Kennedy said Mendoza’s brother, Luis Phillipe Mendoza-Lopez, was with him in Missouri. Both men were taken into custody on immigration violations in addition to Luis Alberto Mendoza’s murder charge.

On Wednesday, police said they are also seeking Roberto Urquiza, 33, to question him about the homicide, which apparently stemmed from the confrontation in the parking lot. Tulsa homicide detectives went to Missouri this week to continue the investigation.

Anyone with information about the homicide can call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS, send a text message to police or submit an online tip at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers.
