Thanksgiving

Abuelo's

Children 12 years and younger dressed in Halloween costumes will receive a free kids' meal all day Saturday at Abuelo's Mexican restaurant, 10909 E. 71st St. Families can receive two complimentary children's meals for each adult entree purchased.

Melting Pot

The Melting Pot on the RiverWalk Crossing in Jenks will participate in the sixth annual "Thanks and Giving" campaign that benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Beginning Saturday and running through Dec. 31, diners who donate $10 or more to St. Jude will receive a Fondue for Kids card that offers $20 off a restaurant purchase of $50 or more.

St. Jude is a pediatric research and treatment center in Memphis, Tenn., and is the only one in the nation that covers all of the costs for medicine, treatment, food, travel and lodging for the patient and one family member.

Green Onion

After being closed for almost two months the 23-year-old Green Onion restaurant, 4532 E. 51st St., reopened this week under new ownership.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch Monday-Friday, 5-10 p.m. for dinner Monday-Thursday and 5-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Sunday brunch.
