Bruce - a man after my own heart! Nice of you to draw a stylized version of my beloved C-130! Now if we could only get UPS Airlines to fly 'em (I'd love to see one as a "Browntail," complete with the UPS logo!)

Jester1969, Broken Arrow (10/23/2009 6:53:43 AM)
So Bruce, are you in the "get us out" camp or are you saying we are dumping money without a clear plan of action?

WhoseLeft, Tulsa (10/23/2009 7:28:17 AM)
Good one, Bruce. The money dump in Afghanistan.

I see a tree hugger in Brucey Boy...not anyone who has served his country.

Get a grip, its a cartoon. In the background planes from other nations should have been there throwing pennies. lol!!

Bison3, Tulsa (10/23/2009 8:14:49 AM)
As usual, a great cartoon Bruce!!! I wonder if we have a fleet of them flying over Iraq?

psychedelikrelik, Tulsa (10/23/2009 8:25:48 AM)
The money is bad enough, but it's the blood that really disturbs me. Stop sacrificing our children to that accursed wasteland.

hvignes, Tulsa (10/23/2009 8:28:20 AM)
We would have save a lot of lives by pouring money into the economy of Iraq and Afghanistan.

There's so much money blowin' in the wind these days it's a wonder we can breathe without sucking a $20 up our nose.

beau3985, Tulsa (10/23/2009 8:43:51 AM)
The president needs to make a decision, yea or nay, soon. He's becoming as indecisive as Carter.

lucky girl, mine (10/23/2009 8:49:52 AM)
Joyce there are those that do suck a 20.00 up their nose daily, I think maybe some of them are in the white house? maybe?

Dan Akroyd and Chevy Chase baled out long ago and are already headed down in an "Ace Tomato Company" crate.

Republicans never seem to have a problem spending money on unnecessary wars and wars that become quagmires. Yet, don't want to spend money on a nation's health. And Dick doesn't know dick! A new survey just came out and states that one in five consider themselves republican.

What the ?, OK (10/23/2009 8:56:38 AM)
psyche: i agree with you. Daniel Day Simpson: what?

It's a matter of time before we realize it's all futile.

I think its a good cartoon..except it doesnt represent the true facts. Now if he had drawn squadrons of C-130s all dropping money, he would have come closer to the HUGE amount of money being spent here. I have been supporting the troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan since 2004. I can tell you if the military spent as much time on the war effort as they do wasting money, this conflict might be over...examples...(paying exhorbant amounts of money for really nothing)...$70 million for a ballistic roof over a trailer park (could've build a building cheaper)...$10 million for a waste water treatment plant (they called it a treatment plant, I call it a sewage pond)...millions of examples...A small percentage here are actually conducting operations..most are just oxygen theifs...this is not a political statement against Obama..it was the same under Bush...no one is watching how the military is pending your money...waste...waste..waste...

redbeard, Stillwater (10/23/2009 9:28:48 AM)
I support the troops also, but we need to come up with a plan to win in Afghanistan so all the sacrifice is not in vain.

Drachir555, Broken Arrow (10/23/2009 9:34:58 AM)
It's a pointless war that just keeps wasting billions of dollars and thousands of lives. I know that there are fundamental constructive reasons for doing this. But all that money could be so much more useful, if it was spent right here in America. That is where we need it most. If only the great US military machine had less influence on the world, but then it wouldn't have all the awesome power it needs to command. There is no solution to this dilemma. As long as the government has the power to borrow billions from other countries, the military will continue to receive whoever much it desires. Welcome my son... Welcome to the Machine.

ajohnb, Jenks (10/23/2009 10:05:14 AM)
It is "stimulus" money for Afghanistan. Make their "economy" bounce back. Everyone knows that war is good for the economy. Good one Bruce!!!

ajohnb, Jenks (10/23/2009 10:10:10 AM)
Companion, Sperry (10/23/2009 8:53:15 AM) Republicans never seem to have a problem spending money on unnecessary wars and wars that become quagmires. Yoo hoo, companion. This is the democrats that are doing this. Obama is pouring money into the wars now. The republicans are not in control. Remember the elections almost a year ago???? Time to get over blaming the republicans. It is obam that is stepping up the war effort and the money going over there. Funny how the libtards keep blaming the republicans but obama keeps the effort going in all that Bush started? He also keeps using KBR and Halliburton over in Iraq even though the democrats insist they are stealing the country blind. Everything the liberals blamed Bush for, obam and his congress have wrapped their arms around like it was theirs.

2ndjoyce, BA (10/23/2009 10:19:08 AM)
The baby's daddy is Bush. In case you haven't noticed, Bush is gone and suddenly out of the child's life. The step dad now has to decide how to continue raising the child. What would you do, ajohnb?

JDAM77, Cleveland, OH; formerly Tulsa (10/23/2009 10:26:11 AM)
If you replace "Afghanistan" with "GM, GMAC, Chrysler, Chrysler Finance, AIG, Fannie and Freddie, etc..." the cartoon would be funny.

Jester1969, Broken Arrow (10/23/2009 10:34:34 AM)
Bush may be the Daddy, but candidate Obama compaigned on the importance of Afghanistan and that we should be going after those that are responsible for 9-11. So, is he going to continue the fight or quit. If he does continue operations, then what is the goal? Everyone on the left complained about how Bush handled this war, but now the Dems are in the drivers seat. What are they going to do?
