What is even worse is that the U.S. Treasury rewards them with $700 billion bailouts because the U.S. Justice Department ignored anti-trust laws and allowed them to become "too big to fail."

Looks like Soros on the chaise lounge.

ajohnb, Jenks (10/4/2009 7:01:41 AM)
Very timely, Bruce. Crime does pay for some people.

JCD1978, (10/4/2009 7:05:28 AM)
Bruce Plante nailed this one. It seems that if you want to get someone's attention, you hit them in the wallet because you cannot count on the system of justice to pursue the white-collar folks. With regard to the banks and Wall Street, the consumer must do his homework and pull his funds from either who have contributed to this disgrace. There are moral bankers and traders, but you have to do your homework.

Aint it the truth.

How twoo! At first I thought he was the sod farmer for the ball park! :)

Expose the BANKSTERS. Bring back the Pecora investigations. (Pecora investigations shed light on how the financial manipulations of the late twenties caused the Great Depression. The investigation led to protections that kept our financial sector running smoothly until the deregulation frenzy of recent years). Yep. For the rich boys---life is a beach.

The US"justice"system thinks it is ok to torture people, altho it violates all religious teachings and the Geneva Conventions that are encoded in treaty. The have thrown out Habeous Corpus.the list is long

That's right, Bruce. Bill Clinton pardoned fugitive financier Marc Rich.

Reminds me of "The Comedy Tragedy Masks". The powerful who were bailed out and tragedy of those who have lost everything.

Thunder196, Tulsa (10/4/2009 1:41:22 PM)
The all knowing smirk of a grin on the butler's face is priceless. Good one Bruce.

dustyoutlaw, Tulsa (10/4/2009 3:13:50 PM)
Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. GW Bush went to Enron Stadium and grasped the hand of Ken Lay and said "this is my best friend". Both Bush and Cheney campaigned with the use of Enron Jets. Shall I continue?

Centrist, the burbs (10/4/2009 3:19:36 PM)
The list is so long of corporate greed and aiding of our government we could feel a federal prison.

Royce, Tulsa (10/4/2009 6:05:27 PM)
dustyoutlaw writes: "Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. GW Bush went to Enron Stadium and grasped the hand of Ken Lay and said "this is my best friend". Both Bush and Cheney campaigned with the use of Enron Jets. Shall I continue?" You might tell us about Tony Rezko, but then I'm certain you won't.

Right here under our noses for 40 years Stipe wheeled and dealed, bought buildings then rented them to the state because he had advance information the state was looking to lease in those particular buildings. He even owns the building where Pittsburg County held court while the old building was being renovated. That's the highest form of irony of which I can think. One of the most corrupt man in the history of this nation owning the courthouse. Rats owning a cheese factory comes to mind. He and his henchmen raped this state and got away with it for 4 decades. He is worth 25 million dollars from raping our small hamlet we call Oklahoma. That is just him. His brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces are all each worth in the hundreds of millions of dollars. They built multi-million dollar homes all over the Southeast and own multiple vacation homes in places like Palm Springs, Orlando, and Europe. They did it by committing various crimes of wire fraud, bid rigging, election fraud, money laundering, human trafficking, immigration document washing, extortion, loan sharking, usury, and good old fashioned graft. Francis Stipe died while in the middle of his own federal fraud trial and was about to be sentenced. Gene got out of his federal trial because they accepted his insanity plea. Hinkley shot the president and got off without a criminal record for the same ploy. But the worst thing Stipe did to rob the American people of their hard earned money is his medical insurance management company. He and his family siphon off premium money and then deny procedures in order to maintain profitability. They profited greatly from the schemes.

The drugging and rape of a 13 year old girl compared to money? Poor taste.

dustyoutlaw, Tulsa (10/4/2009 8:07:20 PM)
I think what Bush, Cheney, et al did is very comparable to raping a 13 year old.

FUTURE WORLD, Tulsa (10/4/2009 8:10:51 PM)
You could certainly say they raped the 10 trillion surplus Clinton left us to fund their neo con dream wars.

BSumpter, Sacramento (10/5/2009 1:39:29 AM)
The regulations that were removed certainly need to be re-instituted, the sooner the better. Thanks to Bruce Plante for reminding us who got us into this mess.

Cooldaddy, Broken Arrow (10/5/2009 8:43:55 AM)
Wow! Tell it like it is!

Reggie Thug'nsworth, Tulsa (10/5/2009 9:46:27 AM)
Call me old fashioned, but I think rape is the wrong word to use. Feeling screwed over by politicians is one thing, but rape is not funny if it's touched you or anyone in your life. Bruce you're a funny guy and I see what you were going for. Like I said maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Grand Old Partier, Owasso (10/5/2009 10:12:01 AM)
I see dusty avoided the Tony Rezko issue. You might add in George Soros, the Unions and ACORN.

dustyoutlaw, Tulsa (10/5/2009 10:57:26 AM)
Actually "Northern California" is north of San Francisco. Redding would be one of those cities. And they are ultra conservative. Always a plus when you know what you're talking about.

dustyoutlaw, Tulsa (10/5/2009 2:18:48 PM)
Nah, we moderates have you right wing nicompoops on the run. I think I'll hang around to witness the coup de grace
