Sutures

Sutures Bar and Grill, 7133 S. Yale Ave., will celebrate 15 years of "feasting, imbibery and debauchery" the week of Sept. 14-20.

"We will give away at least one door prize every hour during the entire week," said co-owner Kerry Tunnell. "We also will have drink specials, Miller Lite girls and grand prizes nightly."

The "ultimate" grand prize will be a $1,000 travel voucher that can be used for any type of travel — room, rent-a-car, etc. Customers may register for the grand prize each day, and the winner must be present at the drawing on Sept. 20.

Sutures offers a variety of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, appetizers and daily specials. It is open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday-Sunday. The kitchen closes at 10 each night.

Villa Ravenna

Villa Ravenna, 6526 E. 51st St., in the Farm Shopping Center, will celebrate its first-year anniversary with a huge wine dinner at 7 p.m. Monday, featuring many of the restaurant's most popular dishes and wines from Banfi Vintners.

Among the items to be served by owners Yani and Sergio Orioli are grilled pear gorgonzola, lobster ravioli, lasagna, pan-seared sea scallops, mushroom risotto, aragosta (lobster) with spaghetti, veal osso bucco, lamb chop medallions, Chilean sea bass, tiramisu and spumoni.

Cost is $95 per person. Reservations: 270-2666.

Bluestone Steakhouse

Bluestone Steakhouse and Seafood restaurant, 10032 S. Sheridan Road, will hold its first wine dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The menu will include lump crab and lobster croquettes, mixed greens with blue cheese walnut strudel, beef tenderloin filet with andouille sausage and chocolate flourless brownie. Wines will include San Felice Perolla Vermentino, Guasti Moscato d'Asti, San Felice Chianti Classico and San Felice Perolla Maremma.

Cost is $60. Reservations: 296-9889.

Rick's

Rick's Cafe Americain, 3324 E. 31st St., will kick off the Monday night National Football League season with what it calls "Blues and Fried Chicken Monday Nites."

The blues is provided by veteran entertainer Mark Bruner, and the fried chicken at Rick's is among the best in town. A fried chicken dinner Monday night special is $15.95 and includes house-made breads, ham-hock green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, a choice of soup or salad and a dessert.

If you don't want your chicken fried, a Jack Daniel's barbecue chicken plate will be available at the same price.
